Torx Security Screw Caps
This project came about do to Exhibition Design not having a readily available solution to cover screws holding in wooden blocking for glass in the Witch Trials exhibition at the Peabody Essex Museum.
I suggested that I could likely 3D model and print a solution, and everyone was very satisfied with the outcome. I was able to create a fairly simple 3D model, and while it was almost too fine for my Ender 3v2 to print with the .4mm nozzle, it still created a perfectly usable product.
I painted them to match, and they popped on quite cleanly and securely. They have now been utilized in two installations of the Witch Trials exhibition, as it was briefly de-installed and re-installed into a different gallery as an on-going exhibition, but the same structures were used for the two windows and door.
The last image shows the most comparable commercially available option I could find, which was from a vendor in the UK, and would have cost 0.08 - 0.59 pounds per cap. I was able to print around 40 caps for 10 cents USD.
